Tharapita's miraculously flying aloft in order to evade danger from hostile persons is highly reminiscent of Eddic god Vo,lund's similar flying aloft in order to evade danger from hostile persons. Thus, Tharapita's Eddic aequivalent must be Vo,lund (not To`rr). Quite evidently, VO,LUNd's Vaidik aequivalent (by way of Bharatiya-Germanic [Indo-Germanic] etymology) evidently is Varun.a (< *\WOLUNo-\. Varun.a comrade Mitra, how-be-it, could readily have his name cognate with Khants \Torum\ and with Sami \Turms\. While the form \Tharapita\ would imply an etymon with initial retroflex consonant : \T.ara-\, so that \T.orum\ and \T.urm-\ would be implied; likewise the Hellenistic form \Mithras\ would imply \Mit.ra\ -- these could be related to Strong's 2962 \t.erem\ 'not yet' (implying that the praedestined glory guaranteed for T.orum/T.urm hath not-as-of-yet manifestly come about).

<arabiy \t.ayaran\ 'to fly away' (DMWA, 4th edn, p. 676b) would guarantee the verity of Tharapita's flying away from Estonia; while \mat.iyr\ 'airport, airfield' (p. 677b) could imply his future making of all Estonia into his landing-field when he shall come again in glory (under the name \Mit.ra\) and all his holy angels with him.

\Mit.ra\ may be cognate with Hellenic \miter\ 'headband', suggesting that he may return from headband-depicting constellation Corona Borealis, which is granted by Dionusos to Ariadne (GM @98.o) on the islet Dia (\Diwa\, her name in Minoan Linear B). The relationhip between the twain isles Dia and NAXos would imply that the NAKS.atra ROHINi is the asterism when the Second Coming will arrive on the island of RÜGEN.
